Westdrive Kia Braintree
UK Car of the Year 2025. The Kia EV3 redefines what a compact electric SUV can be — up to 375 miles of real-world range, a 30-inch widescreen display, V2L charging capability and a starting price from £31,555 with the Government Electric Car Grant applied. Built around Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, it combines a future-facing exterior with a genuinely spacious, sustainably crafted cabin. One of the most complete electric cars at any price.
Powertrain
The EV3 uses a single front-mounted electric motor producing 201bhp and 283Nm of instant torque — enough for a 0-62mph time of 7.5 seconds on the standard range battery. All variants are front-wheel drive, offering a clean, efficient and predictable driving experience.
The Air grade is available with either the 58.3kWh standard battery (up to 270 miles WLTP) or the 81.4kWh long-range battery (up to 375 miles). GT-Line and GT-Line S come exclusively with the long-range 81.4kWh pack. All EV3s support 150kW DC fast charging, giving a 10-80% charge in approximately 31 minutes on a compatible rapid charger.
The EV3 is also the first compact EV SUV to offer V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology — turning the car into a mobile power source for devices and other EVs.

Kia’s latest generation FCA detects vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and junction-crossing traffic. It issues warnings and autonomously brakes to prevent or reduce collisions — standard on all EV3 grades.
Maintains a set speed and following distance, bringing the EV3 to a complete stop in traffic and resuming automatically — reducing fatigue on motorways and dual carriageways, standard on Air.
Monitors lane markings and actively steers to keep the EV3 centred in its lane. Combines Lane Departure Warning with active steering correction, standard across the entire EV3 range.
Available from GT-Line, radar monitors both rear blind spots with door mirror alerts. Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance actively applies the brakes when reversing if a hazard is detected.
Available from GT-Line, four cameras stitch together a seamless overhead view for effortless parking and low-speed manoeuvring. Works alongside front and rear parking sensors.
Standard on every EV3, V2L lets you power devices and appliances directly from the car’s battery — a first in the compact EV SUV segment, outputting up to 3.6kW for tools, equipment or other EVs.
