The 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv PHEV pairs a petrol engine with a 129kW electric motor for a combined 327ps and 500Nm of torque — enough for 0-62mph in 6.8 seconds. A 17.8kWh battery delivers up to 38 miles of electric-only range and a remarkable 176.6mpg combined WLTP figure, with CO₂ emissions from as little as 35g/km.
For longer journeys and heavier loads, the 3.3-litre e-Skyactiv D straight-six diesel produces 254ps and 550Nm of torque, supported by 48V Mazda M Hybrid Boost mild-hybrid technology, returning up to 49.6mpg combined.
Both powertrains come with Mazda i-Activ AWD as standard, an 8-speed automatic gearbox with a clutch in place of a torque converter for faster gear changes, and Mi-DRIVE Intelligent Drive Select with Normal, Sport, Off-Road and Towing modes.
