Intelligent Self-Charging Hybrid Powertrain

The Mazda2 Hybrid pairs a refined 1,490cc three-cylinder petrol engine with a 59kW electric motor for a combined output of 116ps — all managed seamlessly via an intelligent e-CVT automatic gearbox.

At start-up and in slow urban traffic, the car automatically defaults to near-silent EV mode — emitting zero CO₂, NOx or particulate emissions. During deceleration and braking, kinetic energy is recovered and stored in the onboard lithium-ion battery, removing any need for an external charger.

The result is extraordinary real-world efficiency: up to 74.3mpg WLTP combined, with CO₂ emissions from just 87g/km.
